Helping Parents Navigate Youth Mental Health & Addiction in London

I’ve been where you are. I know what it’s like to lie awake at night, wondering if my child will ever be okay again. To feel helpless, lost in a system that doesn’t seem to have the answers. To carry the fear, the guilt, the isolation.

But here’s what I want you to know:

✨ You are not a failure.

✨ You are not alone in this journey.

✨ There is still hope, even when it feels impossible.

That’s why I started Hope-FX—so no parent has to go through this alone.

I don’t have all the answers, but I know that things can change. I’ve seen it happen. And here, in this community, you’ll find practical guidance, real support, and a safe space to share your struggles—without judgment.

Since 2024, Hope-FX has grown beyond my personal journey. We now offer programs, workshops, and a support network for parents like you. And as we continue to grow, one thing will never change:

💙 You are stronger than you think.

💙 Your love and effort matter more than you know.

💙 Together, we will find a way forward.

A Programme That Gives Parents Hope Again

In January 2024, we partnered with the North London Mental Health Partnership and Fashion-Enter Ltd to help young adults struggling with mental health and addiction find a new path through fashion and creativity.

We saw parents who had lost all hope witness their children re-engage with life.

We saw young people, once trapped in a cycle of self-destruction, gain confidence, skills, and a sense of purpose.

And in November 2024, Hope-FX was honoured as a finalist for the HSJ Awards, recognising our work in early intervention.

But the real success? The participants who are no longer in primary or secondary care with the NHS trusts and parents and guardians who finally saw a glimmer of hope.

Now, we’ve launched Hope-FX2 in January 2025 and we have doubled the number of participants.

In this current climate of NHS cuts, there has to be a better way of dealing with mental health support.

IT’S PREVENTION NOT CURE!

Why we do what we do

Hope-FX is an independent initiative delivered by the award-winning not-for-profit social enterprise, Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL). Founded in 2006 by Zac’s mother, Jenny Holloway, FEL has been dedicated to empowering communities through vocational fashion skills.

FEL operates across Islington, Haringey, Leicester, and Wales, providing industry-standard training and support. Learn more at www.fcfta.com. They also help designers build and grow their brands—visit www.fashioncapital.co.uk for more details.

Inspired by Zac’s journey—his time being sectioned and subsequent recovery—Zac and Jenny created Hope-FX to support other young people struggling with mental health challenges.

The vision behind Hope-FX is straightforward: to bring hope to young adults facing mental health difficulties in a supportive, approachable, and effective way. In 2024, FEL partnered with the North London NHS Foundation Trust, a network spanning Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington, to develop a fashion-focused program supporting young adults with mental health issues.

Collaborating with the Early Intervention team, FEL launched a new initiative combining fashion skills with mental health well-being. Over six months, participants learned to design, stitch, and print their own clothing. They also participated in a professional photoshoot in central London with The Bureau and presented their collections at a retail boutique through the FC Designer Collective.
