Anxiety

Anxiety can stem from various sources, including academic pressure, social situations, family issues, or uncertainty about the future. It may also arise without a clear reason, which can be confusing and overwhelming.

Remedies to Help Relieve Anxiety

  • Deep Breathing: Try deep breathing exercises to calm your nervous system. Inhale slowly for a count of four, hold for four, and exhale for four.
  • Grounding Techniques: Focus on the present moment by noticing five things you see, four things you touch, three things you hear, two things you smell, and one thing you taste.
  • Journaling: Write down your thoughts and feelings. This can help you process and manage anxious thoughts.

Where to Find Help

  • Talk to Someone: Reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or counsellor.
  • Online Resources: Websites like Mind or YoungMinds offer resources for managing anxiety.
  • Professional Help: If anxiety feels overwhelming, consider talking to a mental health professional who can provide further support and strategies.
