Last week, the Hope-FX participants took to the spotlight during a vibrant photoshoot that captured more than just fashion—it captured transformation.
This marked the culmination of Hope-FX Round 2, a creative mental health initiative empowering young adults through industry-led experiences in fashion and personal development. For many of the participants, it was their first time being styled, having their makeup done, and posing for a professional photographer. Confidence bloomed, and barriers began to dissolve.
Hope-FX: A Vision Sparked by Lived Experience
Hope-FX is an initiative founded by Zac Holloway, following his own personal journey with mental health. Having experienced the challenges firsthand, Zac realised how vital it is to find purpose and build a sense of togetherness—especially for young people navigating recovery.
From that idea, Hope-FX was born: a six-month programme blending creative fashion experiences with light-touch, person-centred support, helping participants move from early intervention to employment readiness.
A Partnership with Purpose
Over the past six months, Fashion-Enter has worked closely with the North London Mental Health Partnership (NLFT) to co-deliver Hope-FX. This innovative collaboration has supported young people across the boroughs of Camden, Barnet, Enfield, Islington, and Haringey.
Every single participant in this second round took part in the final photoshoot—no small achievement for those managing anxiety, low confidence, or other mental health challenges. The day was a celebration of their growth, creativity, and individual expression.
Preparing for the Launch
Now, the team is preparing for the launch of the Hope-FX2 collection, which will be hosted at Fashion-Enter’s shop at 113–115 Fonthill Road, London. The launch will feature a display of garments created and curated throughout the programme—each one a testament to what happens when care meets creativity.
A Word from Co-Founder Jenny Holloway
Jenny Holloway, Co-Founder of Hope-FX and CEO of Fashion-Enter, reflected:
“Creatives don’t always think the same logical way as academics—there need to be new ways of preparing for work and learning skills. This is exactly what Hope-FX does. In a safe environment with caring staff, new skills are taught—not just fashion, but life skills too. A sincere thank you to the entire team at North London Foundation Trust for making Hope-FX2 so successful.”
From makeup brushes to camera flashes, from shy introductions to confident smiles—the photoshoot day reflected the heart of Hope-FX: giving young people a chance to see themselves in a new light.
